The Nokia Phone is one hot gadget. It uses Nano technology to self-clean its surface and can be charged with solar energy. It also has integrated sensors, not to mention quite the cool headset feature as well. This phone, recently featured at the MOMA in New York, can be bent and stretched into many shapes by the user. You could fold it to fit in your pocket, and then stretch it out when using it to view smaller details. Frankly, the idea’s quite hard for me to grasp, since it’s quite otherworldy indeed! Time for a trip to the Museum of Modern Art, and fast.

Why should your iPod have all the cool cases? Griffin has now released two of their most popular cases for the iPhone. For the rugged individual, there’’s the multi-purpose Courier which is made of compression-molded EVA outer jacket for abrasion-resistant durability and can either wrap around the strap of your backpack or bag (up to 4 inches wide), or be secured by a industrial-strength hook & loop closure (see photo above). The detachable case fits iPod classic/iPod with video and iPod touch, and your precious iPhone. With a hidden zipper pocket for key, money, ID, and a second flapped pocket for sync cable, earphones, or whatever you need, this utiilty case is all you need to carry. 34.99 at Griffin.; now $24.01 at Amazon.
My iPhone had been envious of my iPod’’s stylish Reflect case, but is now sporting its own. Made of a durable polycarbonate shell that surrounds the face of your iPhone with seamless, chrome-like protection, and a rubberized matte black back, it protects while still giving you access to all the controls of your iPhone. At $24.99 it’’s a great way to dress up your iPhone.

The ad for the new BlackBerry Pearl asks “Are you confident enough to wear pink?” Funny, that’’s how I”ve always felt about my pink-hued gadgets - I don”t need to have industrial looking (read: black) technology to be taken seriously. I want functionality and style, thank you very much.
I decorated my first BlackBerry with jewel-like rhinestones, and you can be sure no one in the AOL meetings accidentally picked mine up. Much later I graduated to the Curve, a wonderful machine, that I kept holstered in a classic pink leather holder.
But it wasn”t until the introduction of the Pearl, its smaller size and “lifestyle” features like television, music players, cameras and Facebook social-networking software that the BlackBerry appealed to a broader audience. Up to this point, my daughter Mackenzie had turned up her nose at my BlackBerry, which didn”t pass the most important test for a teenager, which seems to be the ability to put a gadget in the pocket of their jeans. When she saw my spiffy review unit of the Pearl, she had to have it.
Now they”ve improved on the basic model with the 8130, which is a lovely metallic blush, and features an improved camera (2.0 megapixels), video capabilities, full email and web browsing, a music player (player reads MP3, WMA, and AAC files and displays album art), Bluetooth, AND an expandable memory (up to 8GB.) Like it’’s predecessor, it features SureType QWERTY keyboard technology - which you either love or hate. (My daughter is a wiz at typing on it, so there you go.).

A new worm targeting the Symbian OS has launched an attacks on cell phone networks. The worm, called SymbOS/Beselo.A!worm, is able to run on Symbian S60 enabled phones. This includes Nokia 6600, 6630, 6680, 7610, N70 and N72 handsets. The worm is disguised as an MMS message with a name like Sex.mp3 or Beauty.jpg, Such names tempt users into downloading the malicious file. Once installed, it harvests all the phone numbers in the phones contact list and sends them an MMS with the worm. It also sends itself to several generated numbers as well-all located in China and from the same cellular service provider.
Gulliaum Lovet, manager of Fortinet’s Threat Response Team, found the worm and told Techworld:
“It is actual spreading in the wild,” said Lovet, “although numbers are still pretty low.” He confirmed that the worm only affects Symbian S60 enabled devices. When you want to seed or inject worm in the wild, then you may want to seed in high populated areas,” he continued. “The Chinese mobile operator concerned is the largest in the world with 300 million users, so maybe the virus writers thought it would be a good idea to go for mobiles in highly populated areas.”
Cell phone malware is still relatively rare, but appears to be increasing.

In a few more months, my contract with AT&T (formerly Cingular whence we first met) ends, and so I’m out on the prowl for a new deal and a new phone (can AT&T still do it for me?). Honestly, I know that there is a super batch of new phones arriving to shelves in the next few weeks, but currently I just can’t rationalize spending $250-$350 for a smartphone, when another $50 will get me the iPhone. But, I’m sworn to staying iPhone-free until its next generation model makes it to market. So, let’s talk about the Motorola Ming, also known as the “unlocked phone that can do it all.”
I like Ming because it runs a Linux-based interface (mmmm open source). The interface helps any user easily navigate between entertainment, contacts, documents, and more. Ming has a 2-megapixel camera for photos, a business card reader to store your contacts, and 8MB of internal memory.

I hate seeing celebrities, or anyone for that matter, pimping out their shit so they can make more money without giving back. That’s one of the reasons why I can’t stand 50 cent. The a-hole made $400 million last year with Vitamin Water sales but his only contribution to the African American community is promoting pimping and violence.
Anyway, Beyonce made some ridiculous statement about some dumbass song the idiots who buy this trash can listen to.”When I was 10, I recorded a song called ‘632-5792′ — a phone number. It’s a little embarrassing but it’s cute. There’s a recording of that song on the phone exclusively for my fans. I wanted to make sure people got a feel for who I really am. It’s only through this phone that you can get this close to my life.”billboard

Via Mod my iPhone - Quoted - Apple is reportedly saying they have “discovered that many of the unauthorized iPhone unlocking programs available on the Internet cause irreparable damage to the iPhone’s software, which will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed.”

The HTC Touch Diamond and Samsung i900 Omnia are two devices that go head to head with the iPhone 3G in terms of features and specification and are expected to give a tough competition to the successor of Apple’s trend setting device.
GSM Arena has recently posted a detailed review comparing the HTC Touch Diamond and Samsung i900 Omnia. I personally think that it will be unfair to say which device wins and which loses as both devices have their own strengths and weaknesses. I would also have to say that choosing one device over the other is sheer matter of personal preference and judgement.
